Our Work
Native Plants
The Friends have identified a short list of trees, shrubs, and ground cover native to the Grove but in short supply. We purchase, plant, and tend these plants to replace invasive species and restore the health of the Grove.
Invasive Removal
Invasive species, usually imported from other parts of the world, sometimes out-compete native plants. We remove them to maintain Washington Grove as a native forest.
Trail and Entry Restoration
We work with our City partner to maintain and improve paths and entries to Washington Grove. In 2020, we completed reconstruction of the Grove’s Nunda Blvd. entryway.
